21 today

No of course it's not me who is 21, I'm just a bit older than that...

It is my wonderful eldest son, who came into the world 21 years ago today at 6.03am.  I cant believe it - where have all those years gone?  I have a photo frame in my room with photos taken a few minutes after he was born and one taken on his first birthday.  And now he is so much taller than me!  He is a great lad (I know I would say that but it is true!) who helps out lot around the house, helps his younger brothers and sister with their maths and science homework (although I am a teacher neither of these are in my skills portfolio) and dotes on his grandmother - she is a marvellous 87 and if ever she needs any help he is straight on his bike to see to whatever she needs.

Together we enjoy watching a variety of sports, with our top favourites being football (soccer for my American bloggy friends) and Formula 1 Motorsport.  We are great fans of the Brazilian football team and have been together to see them play on a few occasions.  We have yet to go to a Grand Prix together but I am really hoping to sort that out next season.

He is a very laid back person, very patient and kind.  And I am very, very blessed to be his mum.

Happy 21st birthday eldest son!

  1. Happy birthday to your son! My oldest who has just gone away to college will be 18 in October and I won't be there to share it with him. Boo! You described my son perfectly when you said "laid back, patient and kind" -- that is my Yusef to a tee. Best wishes to all, Tammy
