Dreaming of the Palaces of the Alhambra

Hello everyone, thank goodness its the weekend!

We have had a busy week, with No.2 son turning 20 (how did that happen?!), full speed ahead with exam revision for No.3 son and one-and-only-daughter, assignment deadlines for No.1 son, work schedule for me and DH being frenetic, some mild illness.  BUT - apart from some horrid fog driving in to work, the sun has been shining, the daffodils are blooming in the garden, buds are springing on the trees.  All Good.

And I am still sorting through my Spanish photos, so thought this morning I would show you some from the dream-like palaces of the Alhambra.  As my regular readers will know, I am totally in love with Granada and the Alhambra, and am already plotting how I can return sooner rather than later!  But in the meantime, the photos bring it all back, I can almost smell the scent of the myrtle trees...so sit back, grab a cuppa and lets soak up the atmosphere...

The Myrtle Court....

Incredible decoration...

Glimpses of the patio gardens...

Hope you have a great weekend, if you are lucky enough to be going to the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia in London, please visit my bestest friend Sue from @home who will be there at Stand 1, West Hall, (this is on your right as you go into the 2nd hall)  with all the fabulous things she makes.  If you see her please tell her that I say hello and am sorry I cant make it this time :(

  5. The detail as well as the grandeur of the buildings is so amazing...so different from much of the pre-fab cookie cutter structures of today. I can see why you enjoy exploring the area. Thanks for posting :) xx
