Hearts again!

Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by.

Well I've been at it again, making hearts - I just love heart shaped things and working with felt, so putting the two together is just perfect!

Here are some hearts I have made for dear friends of mine (they dont read this blog so no worries there!!)

The two hearts above are for two sisters - quite similiar to each other, but still subtly different (somewhat like the girls themselves!).

The one above is for my friend, their mum.

And here they all are together!

Im really rather pleased with them - just hope the girls like them!

Hope you are having an enjoyable and restful weekend, its been really hectic at work this past week so am making the most of some r&r!!

love, Helenxx

Like mother, like daughter...

Hello everyone, hope your weekend is going well!

Every Monday evening, a dear friend, http://blog.suepops.co.uk/, and I get together for a sewing/crafting evening.  Its been going on for over a year and during that time she has patiently taught me patchwork, dressmaking and many other skills. We have a great time, catching up on all the news, and sneaking in a cuppa and the occasional cake (or even baklava!!)

BUT...its not just us who enjoy this time.  Her daughter and mine also keep up the good work and create something lovely every week too.

A felt and chiffon cosage

A cute little pincushion

A bookmark for a friend

An anniversary heart for me and DH - can it really be 23 years??!!

Together with a hand felted heart, made by suepops daughter and embellished by my daughter!  I cant begin to tell you how chuffed I am that the two girls get on so well (as suepops and I have been friends for a very very long time - since college!  We wont go into exactly how many years that is :))  and that they share our love of crafting.

And, before I forget - thanks again suepops for the stylish blogger award!! Im very new to this blogging lark, she is my technical adviser, and she tells me that I now need to give 7 interesting things about me (Im a bit worried that there wont be that many, but here goes...)

1. I love making cakes and puddings, especially baklava!
2. Im scared silly of flying, but am addicted to all those TV programmes about airports and airlines...
3. I am very fond of cats, which is a good thing as we have 2!
4. Im a big football fan - I went to see the Brazilian national team play last year - awesome!
5. Im not really a girly sort of person, but I do love pretty things - as long as they are not TOO over the top
6. I still sometimes need to check my instruction book before using the sewing machine...
7. I make up my mind about what someones name SHOULD be (and usually this is not the name they actually have) then continue to call them that name even if I know its wrong!

And now my trusty adviser tells me that I need to pass on the stylish blogger award - I would like to nominate

I have been reading this blog for quite a long time, before I started with mine.  Lots of colourful crochet which I love!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Looking forward to the weekend!

Morning all - are you looking forward to the weekend as much as I am?

I just want to sit down and get on with this little project:

It is sooooo addictive!!

I really love the fabrics and the muted colours - this piece of hexie- work is destined to become a cushion...

Although I am a bit of a fan of dark muted colours Im really looking forward to spring....on my way into work the other day the birds were singing and I saw this lovely winter jasmine in bloom:

I know its called WINTER jasmine but it certainly gave me a sneaky glimpse of all the spring-time treats on the horizon!

Have a great day!

Curly wurly scarf

Evening all!

I had a great time on Tuesday evening when I was invited to a 20th birthday celebration for a very special young lady.  I made her this scarf which (thankfully!) she liked.

Happy Birthday PJ

(and thanks to her mum, suepops for the pic)

Have a wonderful weekend enjoying all the things you love best!
