Midsummer Night's Dream Swap Partners

Hello everyone, hope your week is going well!

Well, my friend Sue at http://blog.suepops.co.uk/ and I did our random selection of partners for our jointly organised Midsummer Nights Dream Swap this evening!

My daughter's favourite handbag was used to pop the names into and she drew them out one by one - Sue and I were relieved to find that we didnt get each other as partners (this has happened in a previous swap organised by someone else who didnt know we are bestest friends - it was super to be partnered but we both wanted a change!).

So folks, here are the list of partners:

vintage hearth and minoezel

jacey and killiecrankiefarm

saphys progress and kcs court

Bee and BuTtonZ

moonstruckcreations (me!) and feltbyrae

Sue and dosie rosie

Sue and I will email you all in the next couple of days just to make contact in case of queries etc.

So, to recap - the "rules"  (cant you just tell you have a teacher in your midst, yes its me who is the guilty party so dont shout at Sue!!) are:

a minimum of 5 items to be sent to your swap partner by 24 June 2011 - please note that this is Midsummer Day, not the solstice of 21 June! :)

at least one item to be either handmade by you or by another crafts person
at least one item to have a Midsummer Night's theme - this could be fairies, the garden/outdoors, night sky/moon, summer theme, the choice is up to you!
some crafty bits and pieces (ribbon, fabric, beads, whatever you fancy!)

Here's to a lot of fun choosing what to swap!

Please visit your partner's blog to leave them a comment to introduce yourself and to see the things they like/are interested in to give you some ideas.  You will need to email them as well to get the address to send the goodies to!

Thanks again for signing up, we are so looking forward to seeing what everyone gets!

Koosa!

Not so long ago I came across these lovely round courgettes.

So decided that daughter and I would make one of our family's favourites - koosa!

first of all you need to hollow out each courgette with a special tools - dont know if you can buy these here, I got mine from one of my visits to Jordan:

Then you pop a mix of rice, delicious herbs and spices and, if you want, minced meat (or quorn mince if you are a veggie like me!) inside each hollowed-out courgette

Then seal up with a little cap made from a slice of tomatoe

Then stand upright on a heatproof plate

Then into a saucepan with hot water , just enough to almost but not quite cover them and gently cook until courgette is deliciously soft and rice is cooked

And there you have it - yummy koosa ready to eat!

Serve with a salad and greek yoghurt and enjoy!

Pincushion swap

Hi everyone!

I recently took part in a pincusion swap organised by Hilde and Hilde, and was paired up with the lovely Emma.

This is what I made:

Love cupcakes, love felt!

I also popped one of my crocheted bracelets into the parcel:

I really have got into making these little bracelets!!  And as it was nearly Easter I popped in a couple of other bits and bobs as well

Thanks for your lovely email Emma, glad you liked the parcel!

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday!
