Monthly Make...

...started in April, finished in May!

I started this little piece of cross stitch whilst over in Jordan - it was difficult to get much done as it was a very busy - but incredibly enjoyable - time.

I love the little details, the heart on the door

And the flowers around the window
It was made from one of those freebies from a cross stitch mag, I cant remember which one though.  Perhaps one of you lovely bloggers may recognise it?

I used to do loads of cross stitch, having learned how to do it at an early age (like crochet, cross stitch and I have been partners for decades!!) and have really enjoyed returning to it.  However, I didn't get this little project finished during April, as since I got back from my holiday it has been very hectic indeed.  So I just got it finished this morning - my first chance to do any crafting since returning home.  I love Saturday mornings when I wake up early as I can have some coffee and do some crafting before the crew get into action!

Just need to find a way to display it - I could pop it in a frame but would like to do something more imaginative.  Any ideas?

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Experiments

Hi everyone!

Im having a great time experimenting with the camera on my new smart phone.  It has all sorts of effects and I thought it would be fun to share a few of my experiments with you all!

"when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie thats amore".....the song used for the opening credits of my all time favourite film Moonstruck.  This pizza was taken using the posterise setting on the camera, it looks quite pop-arty to me.  And I love this pic of pasta

could almost be a pattern printed on fabric!

Here we have an old favourite, the Tunnocks teacake ~ this was taken on warm vintage setting.

And this is using the dotty setting - could almost make a cross stitch chart from it!!

Im really looking forward to dabbling with this new toy, it is already driving my DH mad as he cant really see the point of taking so many photos - but then again he only has himself to blame as he got it for me!!!!  Well, it means he gets to play COD without me nagging, so its win-win really...

Springtime

Hello everyone, hope you are managing to stay dry - after a better day yesterday its back to the routine of wet weather again here.

However, I have got a couple of springtime pictures to share with you all.

Here are some beautiful trees I photographed during the rare spell of better weather

This is my first efforts using my new smart phone - the added bonus is that I can make collages direct on the phone - it has lots of different effects on the camera, Im quite excited about it!  I am a bit of a gadget freak I have to admit.

Next up is a collage of a beautiful springtime cake, made by my clever friend Sue from @home - this is for her daughter who was 16 yesterday.  We had a lovely evening together, great food and great company - what more could I ask for?

It tasted as good as it looks!  Happy Birthday Hermione, hope you liked all your presents.
